Some of the new roses introduced to commerce are nothing but a flash in the pan. One grows old just trying them all, with few turning into stand out plants. The Day Breaker rose, however, is a standout. Unimpressive in the pot, it took off like blazes when it went into the ground. Last year it dripped so heavy with bloom, I had to cut back branches to open the path back up. Dedicated, in my garden, to my Cotati friend Bob who left us after a long and fruitful life in April 2009.
